Portsmouth Navy Days 2010


The 2010 Portsmouth Navy days is over the weekend of 30 July to 1 August


HMS Daring

The Royal Navy's Type 45 destroyers, Daring
and Dauntless are set to be the star attractions at Portsmouth Naval Base‘s Navy Days over the weekend of 30 July to 1 August.

Joining the two new destroyers at the historic dockyard will be the Type 23 frigates, HMS Richmond and HMS Westminster and the aviation training and casualty receiving ship RFA Argus.

Also in attendance at the three-day event will be the mine counter measures vessel (MCM) HMS Cattistock, the fishery protection vessel HMS Tyne and the survey craft HMS Gleaner.

Several warships from foreign navies will be in attendance and visitors will be entertained with historical re-enactments and the attractions of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Portsmouth Navy Days will be the first event that Daring and Dauntless have been on public display together and over the course of the show, a number of the attending ships will be open to the public (Daring will not be open to the public on Friday, 30 July).
