Carnival Cruise Lines will position its newbuild Carnival Magic to Barcelona in Spain.  She is currently under construction by Fincantieri in Italy, and will be followed by sister ship Carnival Breeze in early 2012.

Carnival Magic is to undertake a series of seven-, nine- and 12-day Mediterranean cruises beginning in May 2011, shortly after the ship's delivery.

Ordered at the height of the shipping boom in 2007, the 130,00gt vessel will measure 1,004ft by 122ft and will accommodate 3,652 passengers.

The cruise series will mark Carnival's first full season of Mediterranean cruises in three years, as well as the first time the line has homeported a ship in Barcelona.
